Apple Festival

The Apple Festival is October 8 and 9, and 15 and 16.

Scott Sharp, Chairman of the Apple Festival, says that there are new exhibitors this year and there will be live entertainment all four days of the festival. There is “something for everyone.”

Be sure to check out the Apple Country Auto Club car show this Saturday, October 8th, behind the civic center. There will be awards for 25+ classes, Best of Show, and Specialty awards. Proceeds will benefit a college scholarship at GHS in the Auto Tech Department, the Gilmer Food Pantry and other youth-related projects. On Saturday, October 15, the parade will start at 10:00 a.m. It will begin at Sailors Drive, proceed up River Street, make its way around the rotary and end at the elementary school.

In Downtown Ellijay, “Apple Arts on the Square” will be on both weekends. Experience Art, food and fun for all ages. Various handcrafted items, apple vendors and baked goods may be purchased. Admission is free.
