Cartecay Vineyards now open for Business

What a perfect way to start October with a warm day but not hot and breezy but not windy, a nice glass of wine while sitting on the patio next to the fireplace. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and listening to some relaxing music is a great way to spend any day. Wondering where I was Saturday, The Grand Opening of Cartecay Vineyards right here in the mountains of Gilmer County.
The beautiful Vineyard held their official ribbon cutting on October 1st complete with a tour of the vineyard, wine tasting, music, and delicious food. A large crowd gathered for the event and enjoyed learning more about different kinds of grapes grown there, the types of wine available as well as learning the history of the place.

Cartecay Vineyards, owned by Larry Lykins, is a wonderful new business in Gilmer County and a fantastic venue for say a wedding. That is exactly what we were told was scheduled for the following week-end. At this time the vineyard sends its grapes out for the winemaking process but later plans most likely will include a winery.

The vineyard is in a picturesque setting and appears to hold much potential for future growth. If you live here or have plans to be in the area, The Cartecay Vineyards should definitely be part of your visit. Visit the website Cartecay Vineyards
