Downtown Ellijay was bustling with excitement on Saturday, October 8th. Hundreds of people wandered the streets throughout the day enjoying the sights of the dozens of unique scarecrows and vendors offering handmade items and baked goods. Colorful works of art, apparel and handcrafted decorative items adorned vendor’s tents on every turn. Snacks, apples, homemade jams and jellies, candy and ice cream vendors abounded. The aroma of delicious food filled the air, enticing everyone, even those attendees who had already eaten. Who can resist a turkey leg cooked on the Big Green Egg?
The Apple Arts On the Square will be happening on October 15 and 16 also. While you are downtown for the parade, be sure to check out this free event sponsored by the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce.
