Where: Ellijay, Georgia – Ellijay Lion’s Club Fair Grounds on the river

When: Nov. 19 & 20th, 2011 – Saturday: 11:00 am – 7:00 pm

Sunday: 11:00 am – 6:00 pm

Who: Rolling Thunder Enterprises

Why: To share Gilmer County’s rich history through entertainment, education and cultural fellowship while stimulating reverence and respect for the diversity of our great country and those who have sacrificed themselves to protect it.

Georgia Veterans Powwow & Indian Festival

November 19 – 20, 2011 at Ellijay Lion’s Club Fairgrounds, Ellijay Georgia

Sat. 11:00am until 7:00pm & Sun. 11:00am until 6:00pm

Everyone is welcome! Native American dance exhibitions with specialty competition dance-offs, cash and prizes. Feast for singers, dancers and performers, warriors on horseback, live American bison, Native food court, Native arts and crafts, special recording artist and NAMMY award winner- Arvel Bird, audience participation, hoop dancers, tipis, wigwam and living Indian villages and displays, Comanche camp and Muscogee Creek settlement, primitive skills educators, re-enactments; Ray Pena with his Birds of Prey, kids activities, native story tellers, blowgun competitions, native flute, kids activities, pony rides and more. Special guest performances and veterans’ displays, all veterans encouraged to join in on our Veterans’ salute and special tribute. Veterans Honor Dance both days.
