Mildred Elizabeth Neal Parks

Mildred Elizabeth (Neal) Parks, 96 of Ellijay, passed Sunday morning, December 4, 2011 at the Life Care Center in Copper Basin, Ducktown, TN. She was born September 7, 1915 to her late parents Samuel H. and Jenny Elizabeth Reid Neal in Blairsville, Union County, Georgia. She was a member of the first Baptist Church of Ellijay and a career educator, graduating from Fannin High Scool in 1932. She attended Young Harris College and Piedmont College receiving a bachelor of Arts Degree. She taught 33 years in the Fannin and Gilmer School System and the majority of that time was teaching 7th grade.

Mrs. Parks was survived by her two daughters and son-in-laws: Charlotte and Glenn Krausser of Ellijay, Carolyn and Wayne Dillard of Alexandria, TN, grandchildren; Tonya Elizabeth Cramer, Todd Cramer, Jennifer, Kurt and Shane Krausser, Bryan and Chris Luallen, 11 great grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law; Maynard & Myrtice Neal of Canton, GA. She is preceded in death be her beloved husband Jennings Bryan Parks.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 8th, at the First Baptist Church of Ellijay, with Dr. David Drake and Rev.ames Holt officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are Edgar Parks, John Rhodes, Paul Nealey, Bobby Thomas, Kyle Holcomb, Alan Neal, Ricky and David Brown, Ben L. and Paul Kiker and John House. Honorary pallbearers are Morris Parks, George Green, Charles Kiker, Ronnie Milton, Bob Thomas, Jim Huff, Jim Brown, Marshall Holcomb, James Neal, Robert Gibbs and Bobby House.

The family will receive friends after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 at the Logan Funeral Home. The Logan Funeral Home and Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
