Mr. Leon Frances Sweet of the White Path Community, Ellijay, GA passed from this life Tuesday Evening, January 10th, 2012 from the North Georgia Medical Center. He was a member of the Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ellijay, a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Sweet was born January 29th, 1931 to his late parents Kenneth and Cora Deseres Sweet in Nyack, NY. He was a graduate of Grand Rapids Michigan High School. He then served his country honorably in the United States Army. Mr. Sweet was a retired of Ford Motor Company with 30 years of employment and was a tax preparer for 34 years.

Survivors include wife of 46 years, Dona Faye Harmon Sweet of the home in Ellijay; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Don Stafford of Ellijay; sister, Irene Sweet of Grand Rapids, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning, January 16th, 2012 from the Good Samaritan Catholic Church with Father Randy Maddox officiating. A military interment service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Rev. Steve Harmon officiating. Military Rites will be performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will take place Tuesday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 15th at the Logan Funeral Home. Flowers are being accepted or donations can be made to the Good Samaritan Catholic Church, 25 Church Street, Ellijay, GA 30540.
