Mary Christine Nelson age 68, formerly of Ellijay, GA., passed from this life Friday, January 20th, 2012 from the Indian Creek Nursing Home in Overland, KS. Mrs. Nelson was born October 1st, 1943 to her late parents Jewell and Earnest Welch in Ellijay, GA. She is preceded in death by husband Charles E. Nelson.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Timothy S. and Melissa S. Nelson of Overland Park, KS.: grandchildren and spouses Joe and Samantha Thompson of Dalton, GA., Nycki and Chris Buttram of Blue Ridge, GA., Amanda and Eugene Duckett of Chatsworth, GA, Alyssa and Thomas Barnhart of Overland Park, KS; three great grandchildren, Grayson Buttram, Emily Buttram and Joey Thompson; three sisters, Lee Wright, Barbara Chastain, Betty Baker; two brothers Raymond Welch, Grady Welch.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday January 28, 2012 at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Billy Dotson officiating.
