Ronald “Ron” Reel, age 63, of the New Hope Community, Ellijay, Georgia, passed from this life Friday evening, March 2nd, 2012.

Member of the New Hope Baptist Church, graduate of East Fannin High School class of 1966. Employed by Atlanta Gas Light Company as a Regional Operations Supervisor, for 44 years. He was born Sept. 13, 1948, in Anderson, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Inez Nivens Reel and by his wife, Martha Ann Reel. Ron was a loving husband, a wonderful father and grandfather and one of the best men you will ever meet in your lifetime.

Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law: April and Jimmy Smith of Ellijay, Georgia, Brooke and Mark Standefer of Ringgold, Georgia, grandchildren: Jenna and Harrison Smith – Aiden and Tate Standefer; Father, John William Reel; brothers and sisters-in-law Ricky and Cathy Reel, Barry and Sandy Reel.

The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4th, 2012 at the Logan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 5th, 2012 at the Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.

Rev. Steve Jones and Rev. Russell Hood will be officiating.
