Gameplay started at 6Gilmer hosted the Fannin Rebels for a baseball game on Wednesday night. The Rebels thought that they would come out of Gilmer with a victory, but the Bobcats did not comply with Fannin’s thoughts. The Bobcats jumped to an early 2-0 lead until the Rebels finally scored a run at the top of the fourth inning. Gilmer answered with another run of their own in the bottom of the fourth, pushing their lead to 3-1. Fannin did not score another run until the top of the seventh inning. The Bobcats pushed their lead to 5-1 with two runs batted in(RBI) in the bottom of the fifth inning. Gilmer kept scoring runs with 4 RBIs, and a few errors on the part of Fannin, increasing the lead to 9-1. The Rebels were able to secure three RBIs, but the unwavering pitching of the Bobcats shut down the rest of the Rebel hitters, and they were able to beat Fannin by a score of 9-4.
