Franklin Leroy Manning, age 76, of Church St., Ellijay, passed on Monday April 2nd, 2012.He was a graduate of Gilmer High School, class of 1954. Franklin was an honorably discharged United States Army Korean War Veteran. Born November 19th, 1936 to his late parents Benjamin Franklin and Isabella Newton Manning in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Gerogia. Mr. Manning was a self employed carpenter.

He is survived by his brother; James Manning, niece and nephew-in-law; Shannon Manning and Gene Ridings of Ellijay, great nephew; Will Ridings of Ellijay, cousin; Ben Jess Burgess of Ellijay and great niece; Kristie Ridings of Ellijay.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, April 7th, 2012 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Arnold officiating. Military rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion. Interment will follow in the family plot in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
