Mr. Fredric R. Matheny age 64 of Whispering Oaks Dr. Ellijay, GA. died Saturday June 30, 2012. Mr. Mathey was born July 27,1947 in Newport News VA the son of the late Morton E. and Marie Hudgins Matheny. He was retired from the Georgia DOT were he worked as a Transportation Engineer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Ellijay and Gideon’s International. His brother Edward Matheny preceded him in death.

Survivors include: Wife: Nancy Matheny, Children: Angela and Casey Smith,, Marietta, Heather and Nick Gilliam Powder Springs 5 grandchildren ,brother Morton E. Matheny, JR, Pittsboro, NC and sister Awilda Matheny, Poqouson, VA also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 3, 2012 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Dr David Drake officiating.. Interment will be Thursday July 5 in Knoxville TN.

The family will meet with friends Tuesday July3 from 11:00am until in the service hour.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gideon’s International Ellijay Camp P.O. Box 1704 Ellijay ,Ga 30540 or The First Baptist Church Building Fund 164 Dalton St. Ellijay, Ga 30540 in memory of Mr. Matheny
