At a Ellijay-Gilmer County Water & Sewage Authority (EGCWSA) Board Meeting tonight, the local water authority board had its annual election of board officers.During the meeting, the water and sewage authority board decided to vote to reelect all of its current board members which include Chairman Mack Wood, Vice Chairman Mike Gibbs, Secretary/Treasurer Tony Whitaker, Board Member Billy Rowe, and Assistant Secretary Greg Teague.
In the meeting the water and sewage authority also decided to vote to reappoint Emory DeBord as a board member to the Cooswattee Regional Water Authority (CRWA) Board. According to DeBord, while the other Counties represented by the CRWA Board had chosen to have elected officials or appointees, the EGCWSA chose that their representatives of the CRWA be its director and chairman. Also, according to DeBord the entire CRWA consists of representatives from the Calhoun, Pickens, and Chatsworth, and Ellijay/Gilmer Water authorities having two board members from each county and also one independent board member. DeBord also said that in order to be a board member on the CRWA while acting as director on the EGCWSA he must be reappointed every four years.
FYN will bring you more information from the meeting as soon as possible.
