This Saturday, November 10th, Homeward Bound, Gilmer County’s local pet shelter will be having it’s ROCK’N With Homeward Bound fundraiser.
The event will be held at Boogie Rivers Park at 522 River Street from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and is scheduled to take place rain or shine as the local pet shelter will have outdoor heaters and tents and also lots of music!
Special DJ Art Carlson, also known as the resident potter at Whistle Tree Pottery, will be broadcasting at the event and food will also be provided by Shane’s Rib Shack including dinner, wine, sodas, and water.
In addition, there will be a giant, silent auction and raffle, where gifts certificates will be awarded as well as items to be sold by local merchants and soft drinks and chips made available by Ingles and Piggly Wiggly.
“Everybody’s pulling together to make things a huge success,”
says Claudia Horak from Homeward Bound.
Other prizes include a weekend get away to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and there will also be a dance contest.
No admission will be charged for the night and it will be a Good Night to Rock!
Homeward Bound is an all volunteer pet shelter with no federal funding and relies on things such as donations from businesses and individual fundraisers to keep the program going.
“We appreciate everything everybody is doing for us and we hope everyone will come to the event,”
says Horak.
