The Gilmer High School Lady Bobcats volleyball team held the annual end of the year banquet at the Heritage House. The menu was a low country boil and the food was plentiful. After dinner was served, head coach, Donna Parks, then recognized the managers and individual players before giving a brief synopsis of the season and acknowledging the teams’ superlatives.The Lady “Cats” had four different season records broken, Assists, Kills, Blocks, and Digs. Three different players made the 7-AAAA All-Region Team: Cheyenne Frady; Morgan Penland; and Jenna Parks.
Cheyenne Frady was the big winner on the night. She led the team in Aces for the second year in row with 84, she had 88 in 11’. She also set two new career records, and a season record.
Frady broke Haley Parks’ record for career Aces with 224. She broke the record for career Kills, held by her own sister Courtney, with 294 Kills, and she broke Mariah Henderson’s record for Digs, with 568. Frady also broke her sister’s record for season Kills with 191.
