Arson Arrest In Gilmer County

From Tony Pritchett:Gilmer County fire marshal investigators secured an arrest warrant for a male in connection with arson of homes in the Rogers creek area of Gilmer County. Brian Wright of an orchard road address was taken into custody earlier last week. This investigation is ongoing and further arrests are anticipated. Residents in the area have expressed their concern for their property and we have worked tirelessly to assure citizens that all measures are being taken to identify individuals who are responsible for arson.

During this fire season that started with the coming of fall, fires have been on the rise, many identified as intentionally set. Our agency takes the crime of arson very serious, and will continue to stay on top of and fully investigate any and all fires identified as a crime in our county.
