Below is a human interest story by Cheyenne.Okay so, I am an inspiring artist and also REALLY big into editing videos and making music videos. I had been talking to all of my friends about how I would love to have a decent HD camera so I could make my own content and edit it for my youtube channel at home. I had been wanting a camera for the longest time, everyday I would say “If only I had a DSLR or Pentax Kx to film all of this!”. My friends started to pick up on it apparently. My friend Rachel Scott in particular. She had found a decent camera that was for sale around $100 and remembered me saying how badly I wanted one. She made a Facebook account about this and asked almost all of my closest friends to donate $5 for my camera. I had NO idea of course. About a week later or so everyone paid it off and she got my camera. One morning I was in the commons with some of my friends at school like always and I see Rachel Scott and my other friend Jessica Eves walking up to me. I didn’t notice the camera at first. Rachel lifted up this Fujifilm S2940 and put it in my hands. I was confused and said “Did Mrs. Becker tell you to bring this to me? Do I need to take some pictures?”. Her and Jessica laughed and said “No, it is yours.”. It didn’t hit me and I tried to hand it back still. She said “It is yours. We all pitched in to get it for you.”. I started to tear up but I kind of tried to stop myself in disbelief. Then when I finally realized they were serious I started to break out crying and laughing! They guided me to the chorus room and there were more of my friends there who admitted on pitching in also. I was so blown over by all of it! I didn’t care about how cheap it was or the quality of the camera, I was just so surprised that they would go so far to get me a camera for Christmas. I went on to first period and asked Mrs. Becker if I could call my dad. I called him and told him trying not to cry again. Apparently I made his day haha. So, I don’t know much else to tell you but that’s the story.
