The Gilmer High School junior varsity wrestling team attended Winder Barrow wrestling tournament. Out of the 11 Bobcats on the mats, eight placed. The Bobcats placed first over all.Gilmer had four wrestlers place first: Trevor Preece (113lbs); Eddie Velasquez (120lbs); Alix Lopez (138lbs); and James Reimer (145lbs).
Sam Snider, head coach of the Bobcats’ wrestling team, described Reimer as,
“by far the stand-out wrestler of the tournament.”
Snider also pointed out that Reimer had,
“two first period pins, and two easy wins (9-0 and 11-5).”
Tereso Landeverde placed second at 220. He had two pins in the tournament. The Bobcats had three third place winners: Mateo Perez (126lbs); William Gudger (145lbs); and Enrique Jacinito (182lbs).
