Robert “Bob” L. Guinn : Obituary

Mr. Robert “Bob” Lundy Guinn age 74 of Ellijay, GA died Sunday January 13, 2013.

Mr. Guinn was born on December 8, 1938 in Alpine, AL. He is the son of the late John Grover Guinn and Evelyn Cullpepper Guinn. Mr. Guinn was a graduate of Auburn University, a US Marine, retired from Exxon, help develop and institute the international disaster relief teams, Baptist Global Response, for the Southern Baptist Convention, where he also served as unit director for the SBC Disaster Teams. In Ellijay, he was a member of the First Baptist Church and founded the First Baptist Church of Ellijay Mission Committee. He is preceded in death by his first wife Geraldine Buttler Guinn.

Survivors include: Wife: Beverly Guinn of the home; Sons & daughter-in-law: Robert L. Guinn II., Palm Harbor, FL, Jeff & Alicia Guinn, Cleveland, GA; Daughters & son-in-law: Wendy & Irv Drost, Opelika, AL, Julie Ward Guinn, Opelika, AL; 13 Grandchildren, 1 Great grandchild; Sister: Doris Cotton, Opelika, AL.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 16, 2013 at 2pm from the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with Dr. David Drake officiating.

Interment will be held in the Yukon Cemetery with military rites by the North GA Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Tuesday January 15th from 6pm until 8pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
