PRESS RELEASE from the GCSO:
On Thursday, January 24th, agents from the Zell Miller Mountain Parkway Drug Task Force, assisted by the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office, concluded a five-month investigation into a methamphetamine distribution ring operating out of the camper section of the Coosawattee River Resort.
Five people were arrested and are charged with multiple felonies. Charges include Possession of Schedule III and Schedule IV Drugs (includes Xanax & Hydrocodone), Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute.
Those arrested include: DANJA ANNE TURLEY, age 40, MAXINE CHASTAIN FRADY, age 54, VICKIE AARON FRADY, age 54, RICHARD NORMAN MITCHELL, age 47, and MICHAEL WESLEY WILLIAMS, age 51.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges could result. FYN will update the story once we have received more information from the authorities.
