Shortly before 7:00 a.m. this morning, deputies responded to a call of shots being fired at a moving vehicle on Georgia Hwy. 282. The suspect vehicle which had been described by the complainant was located and a felony traffic stop was conducted. Deputies ultimately placed the driver of the suspect vehicle under arrest for suspected D.U.I. Sheriff Nicholson stated
“apparently, it would appear that no shots were fired during this incident between the two vehicles but, in fact, their vehicles hit each other causing the side window of the complainant’s vehicle to be busted out. Mary Louise Jones, age 43 of an Ellijay address, was taken into custody for D.U.I. drugs, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Maintain Lane. Investigation continues and additional charges may follow.”
