Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Roberts, age 92, of Penland St. Ellijay, formerly of Griffin died Wednesday April 17,2013.
Mrs. Roberts was born March 14,1921 in Gilmer county, the daughter of the late Charles and Rintha Sorrells Holt. She was graduate of the Atlanta Business School, she worked as an accountant for Westinghouse for many years and later worked for Crouches Department Store in Griffin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Griffin, GA , were she served as song leader and Sunday School teacher for many years was a member of the WMU and AMBUCKS Auxiliary. After the death of her husband J.W. Roberts, she moved to Ellijay were she resided at Cameron Hall since 2009, while there she was crowned the First Queen of Cameron Hall in 2010. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband and daughter Diane Campbell.
Survivors include: son and daughter -in-law; Donald and Cheryl Roberts of Ellijay, son-in-law: Lt. Col. John Campbell US Army Ret., Tampa FL.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 20,2013, at 2:00pm from the Northcutt Baptist Church with Bro. Edgar Land, Rev. Kenneth Neybert and Dr. Phillip Byler officiating. Music will be by Dr. Judy Byler. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The body will lie-in-state Sat. at the church from 1:30 until 2:00pm.The family will recieve friends Friday from 5 until 8pm.at the funeral home.
