Mr. David “Dave” Lauer Mooney, age 63 of Ellijay, GA. passed on Saturday, May 18th, 2013. Mr. Mooney was born on December 22nd, 1949 to his late parents Floyd Eugene and Juanita Pansy Carter Mooney in Delaware, Ohio. He served in the United States Army in the 173rd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War, and was the manager of the Taco Bell, in Ellijay, GA. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS., in memory of Dave Mooney.

Survivors include wife of 42 years, Susan Jenkins Mooney of the home in Ellijay, daughters and sons in law, Wendy and Keith Hutchins of Howell, Michigan, Catharine Mary Mooney of Ellijay, T.J. & Ron Calvert of Ellijay, Jessica and Adam Dobbs of Ellijay, sons David Carter Mooney of Ellijay, Mikey Mooney of Ellijay, grandchildren, Christian Mary Nicholson, Chelsie Lynn Nicholson, Keith Hutchins, Matthew Lee Israel, Chase Calvert, Ashlyn Calvert, Spencer David Dobbs, sister, Mary Mooney Berg of San Carlos, Mexico, brother Randy Johnson of Kansas, aunt and uncle, Preston and Skeet Carter of Knoxville, TN. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23rd, 2013 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Kerr and speaker Jim Fox officiating. The North Georgia Honor Guard will perform military rites in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion immediately following the service.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m on Wednesday, May 22nd at the Logan Funeral Home.
