Excitement was in the air as eight cadets of the 507 Ellijay Composite Squadron took off for their first “CAP Orientation Flight” into beautiful blue skies.
After multiple weekend weather cancellations, cadets were well prepared and excited to finally sit in the cockpit, manipulate the controls and practice what they had learned in the classroom.
Weeks of classroom study paid off for these cadets as they reviewed flight plans, communication procedures, pre-flight and post-flight operations. Each cadet received individual training from their pilot including refueling operations, safety, weather and flight planning.
