On November 5th Gilmer voters will vote to extend the SPLOST tax that ends in 2015 for 6 more years. Gilmer County Tea Party held a Town Hall Meeting on Sept. 24 to explain the SPLOST in greater detail.SPLOST Town Hall- Pros and Cons was held September 24, 2013 at North Georgia Christian Academy, 191 Harold Pritchett Rd. Ellijay.
There was a panel of citizens that helped answer any questions that arose. Charlie Paris, who did countless hours of research and helped commissioners write new SPLOST, Joene DePlancke, answered for the Real Estate market, Travis Crouch, was representing small business owners, and Post Commissioner Danny Hall made up the Panel.
Brian Pritchard was the moderator and helped explained the answers and questions the citizens and panel offered up.
Along with the Town Hall Meeting the citizens had the ability to meet several of the Post 1 Candidates.
