Mr. Emory Pankey, age 75 of Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Ellijay, GA, passed Tuesday, September 24th, 2013. Emory was born on October 29th, 1937, the son of the late Thomas and Onie L. Pankey. At the young age of 5, Emory began working on his grandparent’s farm. He later became a lumberjack before beginning his construction career in Springfield, OH. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Helen, Elenora, Cathy, and Gertha Lee.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on September 28th, 2013 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emmett Burgess officiating. Music and vocals will be by Regina Morgan. Graveside interment will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leon McClure, James McClure, Arlin McClure, Marty Pankey, Tommy Pankey, and John Pinson.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Lois Pankey of the home, Children and in-laws; Ava and Joe Trinkler, Timothy and Marcia Arnold, Benjamin Arnold, and Therea Pankey, Sister; Gertrude “Trudy” Pinson of Ellijay, GA, Brothers; Elmer, Eugene, and Lloyd Pankey, all of Ellijay, GA.

Family will receive friends from 10am until the service hour on Saturday, September 28th, 2013.
