Citizen of the Year Ballots Now Being Accepted

PRESS RELEASE from the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce:Gilmer County, GA- Started in 1986 with Gene Jones being the first recipient, the Gilmer County Citizen of the Year (COTY) has been awarded annually since. Reverend James Holt was honored as the 2012 Citizen of the Year, adding his name to a very prestigious list. Ballots are now available for the 2013 Gilmer County Citizen of the Year. This award will be given to a deserving person who has given freely of his or her time to support the community and has lived in Gilmer County for a minimum of two years. Anyone can be nominated and anyone can nominate someone.

(Citizen of the Year recipients gathered on Wednesday, September 24, 2013, to kick off the nomination period for this year’s Citizen of the Year. The award will be presented at the annual Chamber Banquet to be held January. Ballots are available at the Chamber office at 696 First Avenue in East Ellijay or call 706-635-7400 to request a ballot. Completed nominations must be received at the Chamber office by Friday, December 6, 2013. Please see ballot form below:
