20 Gilmer County Teachers Have Bright Ideas that Earn $13,084 from Amicalola EMC

Amicalola EMC awarded $51,186 to local teachers. 76 teachers in the Amicalola EMC service area recently got a surprise classroom visit with a hefty pay out. $51,186 was awarded to teachers at 27 private and public schools in Amicalola EMC’s service area throughout Cherokee, Dawson, Gilmer, Lumpkin and Pickens counties.

In its fourth year, Amicalola EMC’s Bright Ideas program has awarded over $140,000 to area schools since 2010. Created to reward teachers who develop innovative classroom projects, the program is funded in compliance with Georgia’s unclaimed property laws.
