2013 GHS Volleyball Banquet

The Gilmer High School Lady Bobcats volleyball team held its annual end of the year banquet. The Lady “Cats” fresh off the first state playoffs appearance since 2006, had every statistical record broken for the program, including all single season and career records.The single season record for aces (88), a direct score on a serve, previously held by Cheyenne Frady, was broken by Jenna Parks with 92. The career record for aces (220), also held by Frady (’12) was broken by Parks as well with 238.

The single season record for assists (194), a pass that leads directly to a kill, previously held by Morgan Penlad, was broken by Britton Farlow, with 230. The career record for assists 355, previously held by Haley Parks (’07), was broken by Farlow as well with 584.

The single season record for kills (191), a hit that scores with one or less defensive touches, also held by Frady, was broken by Parks with 250. The career record for kills (343), also held by Frady was broken by Parks with (584).

The single season record for blocks (90), defensive hits at the net for scores, previously shared by Tiana Longino and Jenna Parks, was broken by Brooke Sims, with 101. The career record for blocks (138) held by Courtney Frady (’07), was broken by Parks with 213.

The single season record for digs (344), defensive saves, previously held by Jenna Parks, is still held by Parks, but now sits at 396. The career record for digs (568), previously held by Cheyenne Frady, was broken by Parks with 957.

The Lady “Cats” graduate five seniors, Sarah Lambert, Darby Herold, Harmony Malham, Parks and Farlow. Their career numbers are listed below.
