Bobcats I Apologize. My Bad

Opinion

First I would like to apologize to the Gilmer Bobcat football players and their parents. Next I would like to apologize to the cheerleaders and their parents and last but not least the band and their parents. The video I posted Friday night after the game was to try to fire up the twelfth man – the fans. I watch how hard the parents work each week for their children and I never meant any harm. The expression is good intentions poor judgment so again I apologize. I have not missed a Gilmer home or away Football game in three years. I am not a good journalist – I am always a fan first. When my son was seven we were at a baseball game and the other team was up by several runs, he said,

“Dad we might as well leave.”

I said,

“You never leave a game until the last pitch.”

This September, my son, now twenty eight, and I attended the Georgia – North Texas game. Early in the third quarter it started to rain. By the start of the fourth quarter it was a downpour. Even though Georgia had a sizable lead and the stands quickly emptied out my son looked at me and said,

“We don’t leave till it’s over, right Dad.”

I was parked a mile away and that was the longest walk to a car along with a two hour ride home soaked from head to toe. Maybe we are just crazy fans but that’s who we are.

When the game was over and I seen Dalton accept that trophy on our field with their fans cheering, sorry but that just hit me the wrong way. However, again I apologize. I never meant to hurt anyone. Troup County is coming to our house this week and Bobcat fans we need our twelfth man! So pack the house and get crazy for the Bobcats!!!
