Mr. Newman Shelton age 84 of Ellijay, GA died Wednesday November 27, 2013.Mr. Shelton was born June 9, 1929 in Jackson Co., NC to the late David Mitchell and Onia Owens Shelton. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a self employed Truck Driver/Logger. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jean Carringer Shelton.

Survivors Include: Sons and Daughters in-law Greg and Annie Shelton, Ellijay, Pat and Kathy Shelton, Ellijay; Daughters and Son in-law Rhonda and James Shelton, Debbie Shelton and Marsha Shelton, all of Ellijay; Sister Reba Harris, NC; Brothers and Sisters in-law Luzelle Carringer, Dorene Carringer, Ted Carringer, Edgar and Kathy Carringer and T.C. and Vickie Carringer, all of Ellijay; 10 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive

Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 30th at 1pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday November 29th from 3pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
