Curtis Mayford Wilson, age 77, of Ellijay, Georgia died on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the Gilmer Nursing Home. Born January 4, 1936 in Ellijay, Georgia, he was the son of the late Harvey Wilson and the late Rebecca Dale Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Mountaintown Baptist church and a retired sawmiller and timber contractor with Ray Wells Lumber Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He is preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude Aaron, brothers, Arvil and Estes Wilson.

He is survived by his partner, Dianna Burnett of Ellijay, GA, sons and daughter-in-law Mayford and Annette Wilson of Ellijay, GA and Tracey Wilson of Jasper, GA, daughter, Rebecca Suzanne Wilson of Dalton, GA, step-daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Lee Oliver of Ellijay, GA., grandchildren, Noel May, Kristina Taffin, Emily Wilson, step-grandson, John Oliver, great-grandchildren, Josh Taffin, Nathan Taffin and David Taffin, brothers, J.P. Wilson of Tennessee and Archie Wilson of Blue Ridge, GA, sisters, Shirley Wilson of Ellijay, GA, Mayseal Stewart of Blue Ridge, GA and Cora Strickland of Ellijay, GA.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 7th, 2013 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carroll Holbrooks and Rev. Franklin Harper officiating. Music and singing will be by Harold Sanford and Pat Shelton. Interment will be in Flat Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Wilson, Allen Champion, Jerry Milsaps, Lee Oliver, Ronald Hyde, Wilburn Defoor, Justin Hurd and Danny Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Davis, Hill Sales, Ray Wells, Elijah Davis, Lowell Davis, Chad Walker, Tommy Pankey, Danny Hall and Vernon Davis.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2013, at the Logan Funeral Home.
