Mrs. Mattie Henson Garland age 91 of River St Ellijay, GA died Tuesday June 17, 2014.Mrs. Garland was born April 26, 1923 in Gilmer County the daughter of the late George and Willie Mae Painter Henson. She was a homemaker and member of the Turniptown Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by husband, Bud Garland and daughter; Norma Sue Garland Pinson.
Survivors include; son Danny Garland, Ellijay, special friend Lula Whittemore, son-in-law: Ernest Pinson, Ellijay; brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Jean Henson, Ellijay grandchildren; Brandy Natasha Pinson, Jason Shane Pinson, Dustin Pinson, Adam Garland, Chase Garland all of Ellijay, great-grandchild, Levi Garland.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 21 at 3:00pm from the Turniptown Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Brown and Rev. Billy Cantrell officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will meet with friends from 3 until 8pm Friday at the funeral home.
