Dr. E.J. Fernandez age 84 of Rusty Lady Lane Ellijay died Friday July 4, 2014.Dr. Fernandez was born April 12, 1930, in Niquero, Cuba the son of the late Euserio Fernandez and America Garriga Fernandez. He was a medical doctor and surgeon, having been in Ellijay for many years. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include: Wife; Carmen Pierce Fernandez, daughter: Maria Fernandez Erickson, San Francisco, CA, step-sons; Matthew Davis, Calhoun, Joseph Davis, Marietta; Eric Davis, Cleveland, TN, Patrick Davis, Maryville, TN, sister; Gloria Albarran, West Bloomfield, MI, mother-in-law: Mrs. Nettie Pierce, Chatsworth, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Fields officiating. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Sunday from 2 until 9pm at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd ST New York, NY 10016.
