FYN spoke with Gilmer County Tax Commissioner Rebecca Marshall and learned that the Georgia Department of Revenue has verbally approved the tax digest for the county. Marshall is awaiting formal (written) approval which will likely happen within a week. Marshall has given FYN a compilation of the county’s tax millage rates for Gilmer County as of today (September 3rd).
The compilation excludes the City of Ellijay. It is expected to be 3.845 mills.
The county millage will be 7.224 mills and 1.00 mills for bonds. The state will be .100 mills. The Board of Education will be 17.300 mills.
The total tax millage will be 25.524 (excluding the city millage rate).
