“Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us?” But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud , but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:5-6.Our Father, you have put within us both our human spirit and your Holy Spirit. Thank you for yearning that our spirit be in complete harmony with your Spirit. Because of this you are willing to give more and more grace to create Christ in us.

Help us to be humble because you do resist the prayers of the proud.
