Mountain View Elementary Participates in FYN 3rd Grade Writing Challenge

A classroom full of third graders at Mountain View Elementary eagarly awaited the announcement of the winning essays for the FYN 3rd grade writing challenge, their second of the year but with a different question. This essay was on “how to cook a turkey”. Clearly, there are many different ways to cook a turkey. There are different temperatures, different recipes, and different methods of bringing the bird home to cook. These kids thought of them all. Although there were many good essays written only two could be chosen as winners. The winning essays were written by Charlotte Davenport and Trenton Johnson. The two winners proudly read their essays in front of their peers and teachers.

Even though the two highlighted students were presented special prizes all of the students appeared excited over a free frosty and plenty of pencils. The end result of these challenges is hoped to be a small extra incentive for the creation of a special appreciation for writing and reading, two skills which are near and dear to CEO of FetchYourNews.com, Brian K. Pritchard’s heart.

Mr. Pritchard pointed out internet safety tips such as, “Don’t Click” and then answered questions from some of the children.
