Kimsey Robert Logan, age 86 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Chatsworth Health Care Center in Chatsworth, Georgia.He was born Wednesday, November 14, 1928 in Ellijay, Georgia to his late parents Ben Jess and Lilie Waters Logan. Mr. Logan was a member of New Hope Baptist Church,and a graduate of Gilmer High School Class of 1958. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was employed with the Bank of Ellijay. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to New Hope Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Edgar Land, 822 Tails Creek Road, Ellijay, GA. 30540 in memory of Mr. Logan.

Survivors include wife of 66 years Mary Nell Woodring Logan of Ellijay; daughters and son-in-law Ginger and Rev. Norman Gibbs III of Ellijay, GA.; son and daughter-in-law Keith and Lisa Logan of Ellijay, GA.; grandchildren Lee & Jesse Logan, Heather and Carl Day, Mark & Jamie Gibbs, Branden Gibbs and fiancé’ Rachel Black , Blair Gibbs, Brody Gibbs, Cali Gibbs; great-grandchildren Logan Lifsey, Gabe Lifsey, Gia Lifsey, James Day, Kathryn Day, Carolyn Day; and sister Gladys Logan Shultz of Ellijay.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday from the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Gibbs III and Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Music and song will be performed by the New Hope Choir. Graveside service will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Martin, Jimmy Logan, Jerry Logan, Roger Woodring, Barry Woodring, Dillard Davis, Billy Davis, and Donny Logan.
