Clear Creek Lady Cats Fall to Lady Rebels

BLUE RIDGE, Ga – Despite a smothering full court press played by the Clear Creek middle school lady cats, the Fannin County middle school lady rebels dominated the fourth quarter to come away with a win.

Although the lady cats started out the game pressing the lady rebels hard and forced several turnovers, missed shot opportunities left the lady cats behind 6-4 at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter brought much of the same, except the lady rebels figured out how to break the lady cats press. The lady rebels clawed their way through the paint, capitalizing on a couple of and-one plays, putting them ahead 13-7 at the half.

The lady rebels jumped out to a quick 17-7 lead in the third quarter, but the lady cats press forced a couple of turnovers that they scored on to trim the lead to 17-11 before the third quarter ended.

The lady rebels turned up the heat in the fourth quarter on both defense and offense, scoring 11 points and only allowing one basket to be scored, finishing off the lady cats 28-13. Lady rebel Morgan Holt scored 7 of her 13 points and added 3 steals in the fourth quarter alone to help get her team the win.
