The Gilmer High School Bobcats wrestling team recently competed in an individual tournament at Archer High School. The tournament featured 39 teams with eight defending state championship teams, including the hosting Tigers who like the Bobcats swept both the Duals and Traditional championships in AAAAAA as Gilmer did in AAAA. The Bobcats placed fourth overall with five place winners.Jamie Lopez placed sixth at 152lbs despite fighting through a significant back injury. Trevor Preece and Lucas Patterson both placed fourth at 120 and 132 respectively.
Mathew Waddell placed third at 170 and Levi Seabolt placed second at 285.
