Psalm 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Our Heavenly Father, you have been presented to us in scripture as the shepherd of our souls. Although we do not often see shepherds in our culture we know that bible images are clear in our minds. We are the sheep of your pasture and you are with us like the shepherds of old.
You give to all of your children the twin blessings of goodness and mercy. Your goodness goes before us. Your mercy follows us. We are enclosed by your love throughout our lives.
And when life is over for us on this earth, you have made preparations for us to live in your house forever. Praise be to your Name.
