Dr. Anthony Francis Fay: Obituary

Dr. Anthony Francis Fay, age 77 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Monday, March 23, 2015, at his residence in Ellijay, Georgia. Born Friday, April 2, 1937 in Flushing, New York to his late parents Cornelius Ryan and Edna Tunstall Fay. He was a graduate of St. Johns College in Queens, NY where he received his Ph.D.

Dr. Fay was a devout Catholic, a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ellijay, GA, and was a long time employee of St. Luke’s Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, NY. He is preceded in death by his brothers John Fay and Cornelius Fay, Jr.

Dr. Fay is survived by his wife, Carole Fay of Ellijay, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Anne Fay and Todd Johnson of Ellijay, GA, sons and daughters-in-law, James and Emily Fay of Deerfield, MA and Daniel and Lisa Fay of Mckinney, TX, 10 grandchildren, brothers and sister-in-law, William Fay of Lancaster, PA and Thomas and Patricia Fay of Mystic, CT; many nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday March 24th, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Catholic Church with Father Carlos Vargas officiating. Memorial contributions may be sent to Good Samaritan Catholic Church at 55 Church Street Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Dr. Fay.
