Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” C. Evans: Obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” C. Evans, age 71, passed on Monday March 23rd, 2015 at the Floyd Medical Center, in Rome, Georgia, with his wife Brenda by his side.
He was a member and deacon of the Mountaintown Baptist Church, served honorably in the United States Army, a thirty-year General Motors (Chevrolet Division) retiree, developer of the Crabbapple Subdivision, past President of the Gilmer County Sports Hall of Fame, and part time route driver for the Fannin Tobacco and Candy Company in Blue Ridge, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his sister, Faye Lynn Evans.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Brenda Plunkett Evans, of the home in Ellijay, Ga., son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Stephanie Carden of Adairsville, Ga.; sister-in-law, Glenda Carden Schelleack of Shannon, Ga.; a niece, two nephews, a great niece, and several cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26th, 2015 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating and speaking will be Rev. Edmund Miller, Dr. George Barnett, Paul Kiker, James Bradley, and Kim Lewis. Vocals will be by Bill McVey. Pallbearers will be Tim Starks, Franklin Harper, Herb Wright, Zack Buffington, Carl Cochran, Justin Barney, Toby Arnold, and Donnie Stillwell. Honorary Pallbearers are the Graduating Class of 1962, members of the Gilmer County Sports Hall of Fame, Jerry Logan, Johnny Logan, Jim Logan Danny Logan, David Harper, Vernon Gibbs, Mac Logan, Gus Logan, Ted Logan, Horace Platt, Roy Allen, Doug Hall, Fred Beasley, Rick Danisheck, Mac Wood and Terry Eason. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 4pm until 9pm on Wednesday, March 25th, 2015 at the Logan Funeral Home.
