Mr. Thomas “Tom” Greathouse: Obituary
Obituaries April 6, 2015
Mr. Thomas “Tom” Greathouse age 70 of Ellijay, GA died Wednesday April 1, 2015. Mr. Greathouse was born January 5, 1945 in South Charleston, WV, son of the late James Paul and Alice Helen Zickafoose Greathouse. He was the owner/operator of Greathouse Productions in the advertising field and a member of the Covenant Community Church of Ellijay, GA.
Tom Greathouse was a man with a strong and deep faith in God. He worked hard to live his life according to the Word. An example of this is after a trip to Kenya he became involved with the Isovia orphanage and church. He had great empathy for this community and had a desire to help them. He would say James 1:27 says “pure and undefiled religion before God is this: visit orphans and widows in their troubles”. So he raised money through family and friends and looked forward to them building a school and dorms with the proceeds. He helped buy sewing machines and tools so they could learn a trade and be self sufficient. He prayed for them daily and tried to meet their needs where he could.
Although, Tom was a kind and generous man, what he was really known for was a dry wit and sense of humor. If you were in his presence you were laughing. We think he has them all laughing in Heaven right now too.
