JDA Seeks Seventh Member

Though not officially voted on yet, Penelope Marshall, Chief Financial Officer of Amicalola EMC, has been nominated.Ms. Marshall is set to serve as the seventh member of the Joint Development Authority (JDA) in Gilmer County pending the passing vote of the current members. Without this seventh member there is nothing that the JDA can officially do as they are not yet a complete board.

Sources say Ms. Marshall has agreed to serve if the vote goes in favor of her. Ms. Marshall herself stated, “I think it will be a good opportunity to get somebody in that will help the county.” She went on to say she held hopes to help the Authority in their mission for growth and creation of jobs.

The Board of Commissioners have passed a vote of affirmation to show support of the new Authority and its Board of Directors which could include Ms. Marshall who will be attending the meeting next week. The JDA have set that meeting for June 24 at 5:30p at the Ellijay City Hall.
