Rev. Donald L. Davenport age 84 of Ellijay, GA passed away Monday July 6, 2015.

Rev. Davenport was born August 8, 1930 in Rome, GA, son of the late, Zeb and Beulah Gibson Davenport. He was a veteran, honorably serving in US Army, an insurance agent, was also a minister having pastored church’s in numerous states, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Louisiana and Missouri and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Davenport is preceded in death by his brother, Royce Davenport and parents.

Survivors Include: loving wife of 64 years, Kathleen Davenport, son and daughter in-law, Alan and Tammy Davenport, of Ellijay, GA; daughters and sons in-law, Gail and Norm Williams, of Monticello, GA, Judy and Robert Wright, of Cape Girardeau, MO, Marsha and Gary Burnett, of Ellijay, GA, Lynn and Larry Barnette, of Moore, SC, Toni and Vick Cassidy, of Paxton, FL; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday July 10th at 2pm from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Henson, Dr. David Drake and Rev. Dan Rosser officiating. Interment will follow in the Yukon cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday July 9th from 4pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
