You might need to Book-A-Librarian. The Book-A-Librarian service allows you to reserve a free, 30-minute session with a librarian on Monday or Thursday between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Please call the library for more details.

“Over the Castle” Lapsit is a fun way to encourage early literacy by including books, songs, rhymes, and physical activity for ages 1 to 3 years with a participating adult.

Adult Programs

Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, August 12 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit or crochet, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

Sweet reads for those hot summer days!  Check the last chance cart for a nice selection of inspirational/ Christian romances and novels.  There are plenty of lazy day reads inside the Bookshelf as well – come in to browse and chat with our volunteers.

Remember that the library welcomes donations of gently read books and magazines. Those that the library doesn’t need come to the Bookshelf, with all the proceeds benefiting the library.  Don’t forget to visit the “back room” of the Bookshelf for newly stocked non-fiction and magazines.

Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
