Mr. Robert Michael (Mike) Laney, age 54, of Ellijay, GA, died Friday August 7, 2015.

Mr. Laney was born October 14, 1960 in Fulton County the son of the late Robert and Stephanie Howard Laney.; He was a graduate of Cross Keys High School and served as an officer for the Ellijay Police Department for a number of years. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Paula Stoyle Laney, sister Lynn Laney.

Survivors Include: Children: Ashley Laney, Blue Ridge, Whitney Laney, Atlanta, Miranda Laney, Jacksonville. FL, Donavie Laney, Ellijay, Chelsea Laney, Jasper Brother; Russell Laney, Snellville, 4 grandchildren, 2 nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday August 11, 2015 at 10:30 am from the chapel of Bernhardt funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Monday August 10 from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.
