Dorothy “Dot” Carver Anderson: Obituary

Mrs Dorothy “Dot” Carver Anderson, age 85 of Ellijay, GA passed from this life on August 19th, 2015 from the Gilmer Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 4, 1930 in Jasper, Georgia to her late parents Ernest Lee Carver and Annie Simmons Carver. She was a homemaker and a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Ellijay. Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her husband Hoyt Anderson and son Jamie Anderson.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy West of Ellijay; Linda and Tommy Burnette of Talking Rock, Carol & Junior Teague of Ellijay, Sandy and Ed Singleton of Ellijay, son, Hal Anderson of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren Jeff Anderson, Haven Thomason, Ty Burnette, Whitney Burnette, Melissa Sales, Karry Burnette, Mandy Ralston, Corbin Singleton and Brittany Lomonaco; 8 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law E.C. and Sandra Carver of Jasper, GA.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 22nd, 2015 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Thom Shores, Rev. Jess Posey and Rev. Irene Wofford officiating. Music and Vocal will be performed by Irene Wofford and Mrs. Anderson’s grandchildren. Interment will follow in the Ellijay City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Corbin Singleton, Haven Thomason, Ed Singleton, Junior Teague, Tommy Burnette, Jerry DeBoard, Mike Norton and Toby Baxter.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, August 21, 2015, at the Logan Funeral Home.
