Ellijay City Council Meets for Rezoning and Licensing

Down by one council member, the Ellijay City Council met Monday, August 17, to hold their Workshop, Public Hearing, and Regular Meeting.

Along with the presentation of the proposed 2016 Budget, which could still see changes, the Council approved a rezoning request for 193 River St from general commercial to residential (R2). This is set at R2 to leave the option for the owner to rent an over garage apartment.

There were still no nominations for the last vacancy of the Historic Preservation Commission Board.

Finally, the Council approved an On Premise Consumption for Beer, Wine, and Distilled Spirits License Transfer within Silver Shadow Hospitality, LLC. This will not change the ownership of the business, but is simply4 a transfer of the license to a new person within the business.
