Mr. George Edward Gray, age 64 of the Tails Creek Community, Ellijay, GA who passed on Sunday evening, August 30th, 2015 at the North GA Medical Center.

Mr. Gray was born January 16th, 1951 in Springfield, OH to his late parents Lloyd Andrew and Verla Mae Hogg Gray. George was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, served honorably in the United States Marines for 12 years, followed by 16 years of service in the United States Coast Guard, where he retired as a Chief Telecommunications Specialist. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Brenda, Evon, and Connie Gray, and brothers Jim and Tommy Gray.

George is survived by his wife of 13 years, Carolyn Key Gray of the home in Ellijay, GA; Daughters and son-in-law, Carinna and Scott Tyree of Springfield, OH, Amanda Davis Tanner and Amber Leah Wells, both of Ellijay, GA; Son, Gregory Gray of Portland, OR; 10 Grandchildren; Sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ralph Justice of Brooksfield, FL; Brother Lloyd Gray of Springfield, OH also survives.

A military graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 4th, 2015 from the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with military rites performed by the North GA Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, 1577 NE Expressway, Suite A, Atlanta, GA 30329 in memory of Mr. Gray.
